When you want to keep a tub
Bathtub replacement for Northwest Arkansas homes that still use the tub
Alcove tubs, deep soakers and tub-and-shower combinations, set with a new waterproof surround, a safer floor and storage that actually gets used.
Chapter 01
Keep the tub, or let the tub go?
Plenty of households around Springdale and Fayetteville still use a tub every week. Kids get bathed in one, a long soak is how somebody unwinds after a day on the job, and a tub-and-shower combination in the family bath earns every inch of floor it takes up. If that sounds like your house, a new tub is the right call.
The honest test is how often the tub gets used. If it has sat dry for years and the wall is something you step over more carefully each winter, a walk-in shower in the same footprint may suit you better. Twist & Spout's in-house install crews do both, so nobody has a reason to push you toward one.
An alcove tub is the classic layout: three walls around the basin, a standard opening, and an easy partner for a tub-and-shower combination. A deep soaker is a different decision, made by the person who wants the bath itself to be the point. The 30-point measure and inspection at your consultation tells you which of those your bathroom can actually hold.

Why a worn tub gets replaced, not refinished
Twist & Spout does not refinish tubs, and it does not patch tile showers. That is a deliberate line, not a gap in the service list. A fresh coat over an old tub leaves the seams, the surround and the wall behind it exactly as they were.
Their reasoning is plain. When a tub or tile shower is leaking or cracked, the waterproofing is likely compromised, and a surface repair will not bring it back. Replacement lets the crew open the wet-area walls and floor, see what is really behind them, and rebuild it properly.
That is also why the Price Locked Against Rot guarantee carries weight. If demolition turns up hidden rot or water damage in the wet-area walls or floor, it is repaired or replaced at no additional cost. The work is then backed by a lifetime labor warranty, on top of the manufacturer warranties on the products.
Chapter 03
A surround, a safe floor and a place for the shampoo
The new tub is only half of what you live with. The walls around it are what you see and touch every day, so they come from Sentrel and Onyx Collection systems that resist stains, mold and chipping, with Moen fixtures and Fleurco doors on the tub-and-shower upgrades.
Small choices decide whether the bath is easy to live with. Slip-resistant floors give you steadier footing, grab bars and seating are there if you want them now or later, and built-in niches and shelves keep the bottles off the tub rim. Easy-to-clean surfaces mean the weekly scrub gets shorter, which matters most for homeowners planning to stay put for years.
Older houses test a crew. Ethan Hardwick's home was built in the late 1800s and had been through several remodels, and Drew still replaced his tub and shower combination so it was done right and looked it. Walls in a house that age are rarely square or flat, which is where careful measuring earns its keep.

Surrounds and combos
Tub Surrounds and Tub-Shower Combos, the walls and the unit as one system
What a surround is
A bath surround is the wall system around your tub or shower basin, running from the floor to the full height of the bath area. It isn't the tub itself, but it is the surface you look at every morning, and it does most of the work of keeping water where it belongs. When the tub is sound and the walls are cracked grout and dated finish, a new surround fixes the part that bothers you without replacing the fixture underneath.
Surrounds come in three layouts. A tub alcove surround is a three-wall system for a standard tub opening. Shower wall panels cover a dedicated shower enclosure, walk-in layouts included. A tub-shower combo surround is sized to the combination unit. Finishes run from solid tones to textures to stone-look patterns that sit well with the rest of the room.
What a tub-shower combo includes
A combo pairs a tub base with an overhead shower inside one wall surround, and Twist & Spout installs it as a full replacement so the tub, the walls and the fixtures arrive as a matched set. In most homes the new unit fits the standard alcove footprint without structural changes, and the consultant confirms that when measuring. You choose the surround style, the finish and the base, including different tub depths and shapes and slip-resistant bases for steadier footing.
One honest limit: a new surround replaces the surface system, so grout lines and sealant that let moisture creep through are gone. It does not repair structural damage already sitting behind an old wall, so raise any worry about what is back there at your consultation. When the project uses in-stock products, the FastBath program can have the installation done in two to three days.
